James Loney starting at first base for Mets in Wild Card game
New York Mets first baseman James Loney will start at first base and bat eighth in Wednesday's National League Wild Card game against the San Francisco Giants.
Lucas Duda was left off the roster, leaving the Mets with right-handed hitting Eric Campbell as the only other option versus left-handed hurler Madison Bumgarner.
Loney wasn't exactly stellar against southpaws this season, hitting .173/.218/.269 in 56 plate appearances. Overall for the regular season, he slashed .265/.307/.397 with a .302 wOBA in 366 plate appearances, while his .131 ISO is above his .126 career-average.
