Rangers' Josh Hamilton has no new damage in left knee
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton has no new structural damage in his surgically-repaired left knee.
Hamilton felt like he tweaked something Tuesday while running the bases in camp, but a thorough examination revealed it was only some minor discomfort. He's going to be held out of workouts for the next few days just to be safe, and this serves as a necessary reminder of the 34-year-old's poor health and inability to stay on the field in recent years. He didn't play at all in the majors last season and has competed in only 139 games since Opening Day in 2014.
Hamilton slashed .260/.318/.423 across the 2014 and 2015 seasons (563 plate appearances) while tallying 18 home runs and 69 RBI's. He posted a 28.4 strikeout percentage over that span -- well above his 21.6 career-average.
