Angels planning to use closer by committee for the time being

Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Cam Bedrosian said Monday he was told by manager Mike Scioscia that the skipper planned to use a closer by committee.

What It Means:

After a strong spring, it was assumed Bedrosian would get the first crack at filling in for Huston Street as the closer, but it looks like Andrew Bailey will be in the mix as well. The move could signal that Scioscia wants to have Street back in the closing role as soon as he is fully healthy. Bedrosian is still the favorite to get the bulk of the early season saves with Bailey a speculative pickup at the moment.

Our models projected Bedrosian for 16 saves, a 3.29 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 63 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings pitched this season.
