Rangers place Sam Dyson (hand) on disabled list
Texas Rangers reliever Sam Dyson was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a contusion in his right hand.
It's fair to wonder whether the Rangers are just looking for an excuse to keep Dyson off the roster right now after he blew his third save of the season on Sunday. Matt Bush will get the first crack at closing duties for Texas ahead of Jeremy Jeffress.
Dyson owns a horrendous 27.00 ERA through 4 1/3 innings (six appearances) this season while his 6.5 strikeout percentage is on a career-worst pace and well below last year's 19.3 percent clip.
