Angels option reliever Mike Morin to Triple-A
The Los Angeles Angels have optioned right-handed reliever Mike Morin to Triple-A Salt Lake to make room for Nick Tropeano, who will start Thursday's game.
Morin had just been recalled to the majors a few days ago and never saw game action before being shipped back to the minors.
On the season, Morin has a 7.43 ERA and 4.21 xFIP over 23 innings. He has as many strikeouts as innings pitched, but a 35.8 percent ground-ball rate has inflated his peripheral stats. This comes a year after Morin made 60 appearances with the Angels, posting a 2.90 ERA and 3.76 xFIP.
