Hisashi Iwakuma (knee) lands on Mariners' disabled list
Seattle Mariners pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 7, with a left knee bruise.
Iwakuma continues to deal with discomfort after getting plunked in the knee by a comebacker during a start last Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels. He shouldn't be out for too long, but Seattle will need someone to take his place in the rotation on Thursday against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
Iwakuma owns a 4.35 ERA (6.29 FIP), 1.26 WHIP and low 12.5 strikeout percentage over 31 innings this season. He's 0-2 in six starts.
