Gregory Polanco lands on Pirates' disabled list with hamstring strain
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 15, with a strained left hamstring.
Polanco will look to return next weekend. John Jaso is starting in right field and batting second tonight versus right-hander Jacob Turner and the Washington Nationals. Adam Frazier will be in left field and leading off for Pittsburgh. Danny Ortiz has been called up in a corresponding roster move.
Polanco has had a rough start to the year from the dish, slashing .252/.336/.370 with a .311 wOBA through 135 plate appearances.
