Braves' Adonis Garcia (finger) to miss two months following surgery
Atlanta Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia is expected to miss two months after undergoing left ring finger surgery.
Garcia already missed some time this season with an Achilles injury, and now this surgery will likely keep him on the shelf until at least mid-august. Look for Rio Ruiz to continue to be the Braves' every-day starter at third base.
Ruiz has only managed to hit for a .209/.312/.343 slash with a .293 wOBA through 77 plate appearances this season, and numberFire's models don't expect things to get much better, projecting him to hit .213 with 3 home runs and 16 RBI in 181 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
