Andrew Miller

Indians' Andrew Miller to remain at closer for now

Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller will continue to pitch the ninth inning "for the time being", according to manager Terry Francona.

What It Means:

Miller got his first save of the season on Sunday and has worked in the ninth the last two games. This seems to be a temporary measure to ensure Miller isn't overused leading up to the ninth. Closer Cody Allen will likely resume his closer's role sometime soon.

In 32 appearances this season, the left-hander has 51 strikeouts to just 8 walks over 35 and 2/3 innings. We project him for 53 more whiffs and 10 walks the rest of the season.
