Dustin Pedroia (ribs) remains out for Boston
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (ribs) remains out of the lineup on Tuesday.
Pedroia took a pitch to the ribs on Sunday and has been in severe pain since. While X-rays were negative, the second baseman is considered day-to-day as he takes to easy. Josh Rutledge will continue to start at second base.
Pedroia is projected for a .307 batting average with 41 runs scored over 321 plate appearances the rest of the season, by numberFire's algorithms.
