Angels place Yunel Escobar (oblique) on DL
The Los Angeles Angels placed third baseman Yunel Escobar on the 10-day disabled list with a Grade 1 right oblique strain.
Escobar hurt himself on Sunday and is expected to be out at least two weeks with the injury. Luis Valbuena is starting at third base on Tuesday and will likely stick there for as long as Escobar is out of action.
Escobar is batting .274 with a .318 wOBA and 7 home runs through 381 plate appearances so far this season.
