Rays' Chris Archer leaves Saturday start in first inning
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer left Saturday's game in the first inning after throwing a pitch to the third batter of the night.
The Rays have yet to release any word on the nature of the injury, but we'll pass it along as information becomes available. Archer was replaced by Austin Pruitt after giving up two straight home run balls to start the game.
Coming into his start on Saturday, our models projected Archer to post a 3.27 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, with 38 strikeouts over 35 2/3 innings remaining this season.
