Danny Salazar (shoulder) to start season on Indians' disabled list
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar (shoulder) "is not going to be ready" for the beginning of the season, manager Terry Francona said on Monday.
Salazar has been dealing with inflammation in his right rotator cuff since the beginning of camp. He may begin throwing off a mound in a few days but won't have enough time to be ready by Opening Day.
Salazar twirled a 4.28 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 33.0 strikeout percentage, and 10.0 walk percentage with a 5-6 record (19 starts) across 103 innings last season.
