Seattle's Erasmo Ramirez (lat) not expected to be ready for Opening Day
Seattle Mariners pitcher Erasmo Ramirez (lat) is not expected to be ready for Opening Day.
Ramirez has been dealing with a strained lat muscle and has yet to begin a throwing program.heduled to later this week. The former Tampa Bay Ray was penciled in as the fifth starter but faces a real challenge to be ready for his first turn in the rotation. Now either Andrew Moore or Ariel Miranda will start the season at the back end of Seattle's rotation.
numberFire's algorithms project Ramirez for a 4.21 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 100 strikeouts in 141 innings pitched this season.
