Cardinals' Luke Gregerson (oblique) will face live hitters on Friday
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Luke Gregerson (oblique) will throw a live batting practice session on Friday.
Assuming everything goes well, Gregerson should be able to see game action soon. He entered spring training as the presumed favorite to win the closer job, but an oblique injury has has opened the door for Dominic Leone to potentially close instead. This competition could potentially come down to the wire.
Assuming Gregerson still wins the job, numberFire projects him for a 3.20 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 66 strikeouts, and 25 saves across 64.2 innings this season.
