Mets' David Wright (back, shoulder) placed on DL
New York Mets third baseman David Wright has been placed on the team's 10-day disabled list with back and shoulder injuries.
Wright hasn't played since May 2016 and there's no timetable for him to return and play this season. The 35-year-old was shut down for eight weeks dating back to March 13th so this isn't a surprising move. However, he's owed big money over the next three years and Todd Frazier isn't likely to cede many at-bats if and when Wright is healthy.
In 2016, Wright hit .226 with 7 home runs and 14 RBI. He is a seven-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger award winner.
