Taijuan Walker leaves D-Backs' game on Saturday with forearm tightness

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Taijuan Walker left his start Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers after two innings due to right forearm tightness.

What It Means:

Walker got a visit from the team trainer in the second inning but stayed in the game, and he was pinch-hit for a half-inning later. Ominously, forearm tightness has become a precursor for Tommy John surgery in recent years. He'll be sent for tests, after which a clearer timetable for his return should be available.

Walker has averaged 4.23 FanDuel points per inning pitched over the last three games. Our models project him for 11 more wins, a 4.30 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 20.7 percent strikeout rate, and 9.0 percent walk rate in 153 more innings pitched.
