Matt Joyce moves to Athletics' bench on Monday evening
Oakland Athletics outfielder Matt Joyce is not in Monday's lineup against the Houston Astros.
What It Means:
Jake Smolinski will join Mark Canha and Chad Pinder in the Athletics' outfield while Joyce moves to the bench. He went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Baltimore Orioles but his overall slash stands at .198/.346/.349 through 31 games.
