Nationals' Jeremy Hellickson to have an MRI on hamstring

Washington Nationals pitcher Jeremy Hellickson will undergo an MRI on the strained hamstring that knocked him out of Sunday's game.

What It Means:

Hellickson faced just two batters on Sunday -- getting one out while the other reached on an error --before being forced to leave the game with the hamstring injury. While Hellickson does not believe the strain is too severe, he is likely to land on the DL and miss at least one start. A better timetable will be known after the MRI on Monday.

Hellickson has pitched well this season, posting a 2.28 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and .219 batting average against with 34 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings (9 starts) pitched this season.
