Rangers' Robinson Chirinos serving one-game suspension, Carlos Perez starting at catcher on Friday
Texas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos is serving a one-game suspension on Friday night for his involvement in Wednesday's benches-clearing incident with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Chirinos isn't appealing the suspension, so he will serve it immediately on Friday. Carlos Perez is starting at catcher and batting ninth against the Colorado Rockies.
Chirinos is batting .196/.306/.387 with 8 home runs and 22 RBIs this year.
