Sean Doolittle (toe) on Nationals' disabled list, won't pitch in All-Star game
Washington Nationals reliever Sean Doolittle is on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 7, with left toe inflammation and he will not pitch in the All-Star game.
Doolittle is dealing with a pinched nerve in his toe but will be eligible to return for the first game of the second half. Kelvin Herrera will take over as closer for the Nationals until then.
Doolittle has picked up 22 saves (23 chances) and is averaging 7.4 FanDuel points in 35 outings this season while recording a 1.45 ERA with 49 strikeouts and 3 walks across 37 1/3 innings.
