Brandon Morrow

Cubs' Brandon Morrow (biceps) had MRI Thursday

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Brandon Morrow underwent an MRI on his injured biceps.

What It Means:

"This is a new one, but it’s manageable," Morrow said. "We have a good idea of how to proceed and I’m hopeful that it’s just a muscle strain that can clear up.” The 33-year-old right-hander was placed on the disabled list Thursday with biceps inflammation. Pedro Strop was called on to get the final out for the Cubs in their first save opportunity without Morrow.

Morrow averaged 4.8 FanDuel points per outing and converted on 22-of-24 save chances for the Cubs before the All-Star break. He owns a 1.47 ERA with 31 strikeouts and 9 walks across 30 2/3 innings.
