Royals' Adalberto Mondesi placed on emergency family leave
Kansas City Royals infielder Adalberto Mondesi has been placed on the family medical emergency leave list.
Mondesi can be away from the club for 3-7 days. The Royals recalled Ramon Torres from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding roster move. Alcides Escobar has drawn the start at shortstop for the Royals on Friday against the Minnesota Twins.
Mondesi averaged 10.1 FanDuel points in 21 games during the first half, while slashing .250/.270/.444 with 3 home runs, 11 RBI, 5 steals, and 13 runs scored across 74 plate appearances.
