Corey Kluber's weekend start for Indians to be skipped
Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber will be skipped from his next scheduled start this weekend against the Detroit Tigers.
Kluber will now be able to take an extra day of rest before his first playoff start. The 32-year-old right-hander lasted only 1 2/3 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits in a no-decision. Josh Tomlin, Mike Clevinger, and Shane Bieber, in that order, are the Indians' probable starters for the weekend series versus the Tigers.
Despite Monday's rough outing, Kluber is averaging 39.3 FanDuel points per game this season, while going 18-7 (30 starts) with a 2.91 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 194 strikeouts, and only 29 walks across 195 innings.
