5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 11/11/19

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup

Norman Powell, SG, Toronto Raptors ($4,300)

We are only a few weeks into the season, but there are a ton of injury situations to monitor, one of which comes from the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors have both Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka out, which means they are dealing with a new starting lineup and a new rotation of players. We saw and will continue to see Fred VanVleet get the start at point guard, while Norman Powell will be the new starting shooting guard. Powell grabbed the start last night where he played 25 minutes, posting 28 FanDuel points. With both Lowry and Ibaka off the court this season, Powell is carrying a modest 17.2% usage rate and producing 0.78 FanDuel points per minute.

That is solid production for a player under $5K who will continue to play strong minutes with the injuries to the Toronto lineup. He is up against the Los Angeles Clippers, who are allowing 37.3 FanDuel points per game to shooting guards this season, which is the sixth-best in the league. It's certainly a tougher matchup, but Powell doesn't need 40 points to reach value -- only around 21.5 FanDuel points.

Jarrett Culver, SF, Minnesota Timberwolves ($3,800)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are another team dealing with some missing players and that means more value options.

Over the past week, both point guards for the Timberwolves -- Jeff Teague and Shabazz Napier -- have missed games, which means they have altered their rotation in a big way. One player to see the benefit from this situation is Jarrett Culver, who is listed as a small forward but has been getting the start at point guard. If Culver is in the starting lineup again today, we want to go right back to him, since he is facing off against the Detroit Pistons, who are allowing 50.7 FanDuel points per game to point guards -- the eighth-worst in the league.

This game has an over/under set at 221, with a spread of only 3.0-points in favor of the Pistons. A high scoring and close game is exactly what we want to see to help maximize fantasy potential.

Kenrich Williams, SF, New Orleans Pelicans ($3,900)

With an over/under set at 242.5 points, the Houston Rockets at New Orleans Pelicans game is a fantasy dream.

Both teams are in the top-four when it comes to the fastest pace this season, which means we are in for plenty of possessions and plenty of scoring. Getting cheaper exposure to this game could be key tonight, and Kenrich Williams is a player who fits that description. The Pelicans have ruled Lonzo Ball out for this game, which means we should be seeing Jrue Holiday get the start at point guard, while Williams jumps into the starting lineup at power forward.

With Ball off the court this season, Williams has a very low 12.3% usage rate but is still managing to post 0.91 FanDuel points per minute, which is super strong. The Rockets are dead last in the league versus power forwards this season, allowing 53.7 FanDuel points, presenting a fantastic spot for Williams to attack.

Trey Lyles, PF, San Antonio Spurs ($4,000)

The San Antonio Spurs will be playing up in pace against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, giving a game to utilize for potential fantasy value.

This game has an over/under set at 224 points -- a bit higher than I would've guessed -- but the Grizzlies are playing at the sixth-fastest pace this season, along with allowing the second-most FanDuel points per game to all positions. This gives extra possessions to the Spurs, and those possessions will be super valuable since the matchup is so soft.

Trey Lyles comes in as our third-best value among power forwards tonight and is projected for 22 minutes and 20 FanDuel points. Lyles found his way into the starting lineup in the Spurs' most recent game on Saturday but played only 21 minutes in that start.

Chris Boucher, C, Toronto Raptors ($4,100)

With Serge Ibaka out for the Raptors, Chris Boucher will be the one to benefit from it.

Last night, Boucher played 24 minutes off the bench and was able to post a whopping 33.9 FanDuel points in that time. He is listed as a center on FanDuel but is often seeing time at power forward, while Marc Gasol is at center. What's most interesting about Boucher is the fact he took 11 field goal attempts last night, which was the third-highest on the entire team. He may be a player coming off the bench but has the volume of a starter. With the current injuries on the Raptors, Boucher is producing 1.37 FanDuel points per minute with a 17.4% usage rate.

This is massive when he is only $4.1K tonight and set for another high-scoring game against the Los Angeles Clippers, where the over/under is set at 222.5 points.
