3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Friday 12/6/19

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.

While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money on betting everyday player props.

For the purposes of this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

D'Angelo Russell, Over 20.5 Points

D'Angelo Russell returned to the Warriors Wednesday in a loss to the Hornets. Russell scored 18 points in 25 minutes on 7-for-14 shooting, including 3 of 8 from deep. His over/under total is low, but that is understandable since he just returned from injury.

However, Russell has scored 20 or more points in 7 of 11 games this season. Russell has made 50 percent of his shots from the field in six of his last seven games, and he has hit three or more triples in 7 of 11 games this year.

Versus a young Bulls backcourt and on the road, where he averages 25.2 points over five games, Russell should top 20 points tonight. Our model backs the over, with Russell projected to score 20.9 points in his second game back.

Lauri Markkanen, Under 24.5 Points + Rebounds

Lauri Markkanen has had an underwhelming season for the Bulls, and his points plus rebounds under has been gold for most of the season. The Warriors have Russell and Draymond Green back in the lineup, which adds some defense, rebounding and transition to the game -- all attributes Markkanen has struggled with this season.

He's averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds over 22 games, and he's surpassed 25 total points and rebounds in only four of those games. One of those outings came on Monday against the Kings as he totaled 20 points and 7 rebounds. He followed that up with 15 points and 5 rebounds against the Grizzlies.

If this was last week's Warriors team, I would feel differently, but with two All-Star caliber players back for the Dubs, I'm going back to Markkanen's under. Our model forecasts Markkanen at 14.5 points and 7.3 rebounds tonight versus the Warriors.

Aaron Gordon, Over 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Aaron Gordon has played without Nikola Vucevic for the last two weeks, and he's posted two straight big games for the Magic, recording a double-double in each. Over his last two games, he's averaged 25.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists, and in Orlando's three-game winning streak, he's averaged 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

He's surpassed 27.5 combined points, boards and dimes in each of the past two games and will be visiting the Cavaliers today. His line on this prop has increased each game, making this his highest total since the beginning of the season.

These two teams opened the season versus each other, and Orlando won, 94-85. Gordon had 9 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds in a poor showing, but Vucevic had 21 points and 10 rebounds in that game. Someone will need to produce like Vucevic did for the Magic to get victory, and I think Gordon during his hot streak is the perfect candidate.
