DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Friday 12/6/19
With 10 games to choose from on tonight's NBA slate, let's take a look at how to utilize the many DFS possibilities. Here are some of the top plays and sleepers on DraftKings. As always, good luck.
Point Guard
D'Angelo Russell ($7,900) -- Russell returned to the Warriors' lineup Wednesday in a loss to the Hornets. Russell scored 18 points in 25 minutes on 7-for-14 shooting, including 3 of 8 from deep. Russell has scored 20 or more points in 7 of 11 games this season and has made 50 percent from the field in six of his last seven games. I expect a big game from Russell tonight versus the young Bulls' backcourt.
Markelle Fultz ($5,600) -- Fultz has been playing the best basketball of his career, and tonight versus the Cavaliers, he could have another good scoring night. In his past 10 games, he's scored double-digits in all of them and has double-digit shot attempts in all but one. For $5,600, he's a good option for your last play if you think he can pass his average of 29.3 fantasy points from the past five games. I'd play him if you're in a tight squeeze with value.
Shooting Guard
Jimmy Butler ($8,100) -- Butler is averaging 26.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 51.0 fantasy points over his last three games for the Heat, including a triple-double in Toronto that gave the Raptors their first home loss. He's coming off a season-high 37 points against the Celtics and will return home to Miami, where they are 8-0 this season. Expect Butler to have a big night. Our model projects Butler with 24.2 points, 6.4 assists and 6.1 rebounds.
Malcolm Brogdon ($7,300) -- Brogdon had 11 points and 6 rebounds in the first matchup between the Pacers and Pistons, and this time around, Indiana has reloaded. Myles Turner ($5,700) is back, and that's taken some of Brogdon's shots, but the guard is still averaging 18.9 points, 7.9 assists and 4.9 rebounds to go along with 38.8 fantasy points per game. Brogdon has surpassed 20 points in two of his last five games and hasn't recorded a double-double since November 13th, but tonight he has a good opportunity to post a big number against a weak Pistons backcourt.
Small Forward
Kawhi Leonard ($8,400) -- Leonard is coming off a poor shooting performance in his last game, but he finished with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in a 20-point win for the Clippers. You can get Leonard for $100 more than Devonte' Graham ($8,300) tonight, with Leonard much cheaper than usual due to the matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. Leonard averages more than 10 fantasy points a night and will share offensive and defensive duties -- with Paul George ($7,800) -- against Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,300). For the price. I like the chances of Leonard having a 30-point night, and George is a good choice, as well.
Aaron Gordon ($6,900) -- Gordon has played without Nikola Vucevic for the last two weeks, and he's had back-to-back big games for the Magic, recording a double-double in both. Over his last two games, he's averaged 25 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists, and across the Magic's three-game winning streak, he's had 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He's becoming a vocal point of the offense, so grab him while he's still cheap.
Power Forward
Danilo Gallinari ($6,400) -- Gallinari has been playing well for the Thunder, averaging 18.3 points over his last 10 games as one of the primary scorers as well as 7.2 rebounds over his last five games. He's topped 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games and had 44.75 fantasy points two games ago against the Pelicans. The Timberwolves are a nice matchup, and Gallo is a solid mid-range play.
Wendell Carter Jr. ($6,600) -- Carter Jr. has six straight games of at least eight points and eight rebounds. He's currently riding a two-game double-double streak. The Bulls' big man has averaged 33.2 fantasy points over the last six games and put up 39.25 in his last game at roughly the same price. Versus the Warriors, he has a favorable matchup down low and should be good for his third-straight double-double.
Center
Andre Drummond ($9,400) -- I really don't think anyone can stop Drummond down low except himself. His mark of 16.8 rebounds per game leads the league, and he's averaging 17.3 points a game. He's posted 14 or more rebounds in 10 straight games, and our models project that to continue with 15.1 boards tonight as we peg him to be the leading board man on the slate.
Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,400) -- Tonight is a night I will pair Drummond and Towns together and hope they go wild as Towns has my favorite matchup of the night. There's not one person on OKC who can guard Towns on the perimeter. He's been a little banged up with a knee injury, but if he's full go, he should eat. We have him projected for 25.7 points and 12.2 rebounds.
