5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 1/28/20

Delon Wright is producing big fantasy points lately and isn't expensive tonight. What other players should you consider as value options?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

De'Andre Hunter, SF, Atlanta Hawks ($4,400)

The Atlanta Hawks come in as 12-point underdogs against the Toronto Raptors, but they have some value options tonight.

De'Andre Hunter is the regular starting small forward for Atlanta and is averaging 30 minutes per game this season. The minutes are very solid -- especially at his price tag -- but comes in producing a modest 0.71 FanDuel points per minute, the fourth-highest on Hawks starting lineup. Strong minutes, great price tag, but lower production per minute. That mix is fine considering the game environment tonight -- a 232-point total -- and since the Raptors are allowing 41.6 FanDuel points per game to small forwards this season, the seventh-most in the league.

If you want to cherry-pick a game log, the last time he played the Raptors, Hunter posted 32.2 FanDuel points in 27 minutes. Hunter might not be an ideal cash game option tonight, but the price tag and matchup make him a viable option when it comes to tournaments.

Davis Bertans, PF, Washington Wizards ($5,100)

With a 243-point over/under, the Washington Wizards at Milwaukee Bucks game is a fantasy wonderland.

This game is set to draw plenty of ownership simply due to the fact this over/under is super high. This would be like an NFL game having an over/under of 60 points, everyone wants a part of this game and Davis Bertans could be a way to get some exposure at a cheaper price point. Bertans is having a bit of an up and down season due to an injury, but he is back and starting to get the scoring going again. Bertans is a great three-point shooter -- 42.0% on the season -- and has hit four three-pointers in two of his last three games. Bertans has also attempted eight or more three-pointers in five of his last six games, giving him plenty of pure scoring upside.

While no one expects the Wizards to win this game, they will be playing from behind and are facing the Bucks -- who allow opposing teams to make the 10th-highest three-point percentage this season, sitting at 36.0%.

Willie Cauley-Stein, C, Dallas Mavericks ($4,300)

The Dallas Mavericks are on the second night of a back-to-back and could use some help with their frontcourt.

After Dwight Powell went out for the season with an injury, Dallas traded for Willie Cauley-Stein to add another center. Last night, he was available to make his Mavericks' debut, but didn't see the court. Since the Mavericks are playing their second game in as many days, there is reason to believe we will see WCS in action tonight. We know the Mavericks have been cautious with Kristaps Porzingis since coming back from his injury -- he hasn't played more than 27 minutes in his last four games -- and frankly, the Mavericks need someone to play minutes tonight.

The Mavericks are at home to host the Phoenix Suns, who come into this game allowing 52.8 FanDuel points per game to centers this season, the 13th-most in the league. This isn't an amazing matchup, it's also not one you need to avoid -- they are simply about league average. This is also a pace-up spot for the Mavericks, as they are 23rd in the league for pace, while the Suns are the ninth-fastest team. Everything considered tonight -- the matchup, being on a back-to-back, and the limits on Porzingis -- should lead to WCS seeing the court.

Malik Beasley, SG, Denver Nuggets ($4,300)

With a 225-point over/under and a spread of only one-point, the Denver Nuggets at Memphis Grizzlies game is ideal for fantasy production.

This game has the fifth-highest over/under on the slate, but the four games ahead of this one all have spreads sitting at seven points or more. The Nuggets are dealing with some injuries right now, but they have plenty of depth and they are getting production from several different players. One such player is Malik Beasley, who comes off the bench but has played 23 minutes or more in three of his last four games.

Beasley has also posted 22 FanDuel points or more in four of his last six games and is in a spot to repeat that production tonight. This is a huge pace-up spot for the Nuggets, who are 29th in the league, while the Grizzlies are all the way up as the fourth-fastest team in the league. Memphis comes into this game allowing the fourth-most (44.4) FanDuel points per game to shooting guards this season, making this a very easy matchup for Beasley.

Delon Wright, SG, Dallas Mavericks ($4,200)

Delon Wright is filling up the stat sheet recently, and it all leads to plenty of FanDuel points.

With the rotation of players changing for the Mavericks, Wright has stepped up to play 27 minutes or more in three straight games, along with posting 20 FanDuel points or more in five of his last seven. As mentioned above with Willie Cauley-Stein, the Mavericks are on the second night of a back-to-back and are in a pace-up spot versus the Suns.

The Suns come into this game allowing 43.1 FanDuel points per game to opposing shooting guards -- the seventh-most in the league. What's great about Wright is the fact he comes off the bench and generally plays when Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are off the court. It's not exact., as there is a bit of overlap but in general, he isn't competing for offensive usage with those two players. This has led to Wright posting 1.18 FanDuel points per minute when they are both off the court, a very solid rate for a player who is only $4.2K tonight.
