3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 2/25/20

After fouling out last night, can Giannis hit the over on his points total tonight?

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.

While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money betting everyday player props.

For the purposes of this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Over 30.5 Points

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks went the distance with the Washington Wizards last night, winning 140-137 in overtime. Giannis recorded 22 points in 25 minutes before fouling out, while three of the other starters played 33 minutes or more. The coaching staff was careful with their minutes playing tonight's back-to-back in Toronto. This will be a matchup between the two top seeds in the East, and of course, Giannis is going to bring it tonight. numberFire's model projects Giannis to record 29.2 points, but given that he's more well-rested than the rest of his team, I'm going to back the over again -- and here's why.

Giannis recorded 36 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists with one made three-pointer in the only meeting this season with Toronto. Giannis has attempted just four three-pointers in his last four road games, which is extremely low, even for him, as he averages a career-high 4.5 three-point attempts on the road this season. If he makes a couple of threes, that could be the difference in his total tonight. Back the rested MVP.

Nikola Jokic, Over 39.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Nikola Jokic has been on a tear this month for the Denver Nuggets and should be considered for Western Conference Player of the Month. Jokic has averaged 27.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in February (eight games). Jokic has failed to record double-digit rebounds in each of his last two games, but the Detroit Pistons present a solid opportunity to break that trend. Detroit ranks 26th in points allowed to centers (22.54), while also allowing 14.79 to the position.

Jokic has scored 22 or more in seven of his last eight games, and in his last four home games, he's done it three times. He's double-doubled in 7 of his last 10 games, triple-doubled in two of those, and he's led the team in either points, assists, or rebounds in 14 straight games. He's led in all three categories twice in his last 10 games, with one of those performances being a 39-point, 11-rebound, and 10-assist explosion against the Pistons. Jokic faced Andre Drummond in that game, and without him, he should be a lock for an even stronger all-around game. numberFire pegs Jokic with 21.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists tonight, but I'll take the over on 39.5.

Hassan Whiteside, Over 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Hassan Whiteside has one of the most favorable matchups tonight, and he's been dominating at home recently -- which is much need, since Damian Lillard hasn't been playing due to an injury. The Portland Trail Blazers host the Boston Celtics tonight, and Whiteside has averaged 16 points, 18 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in his last five home games. The Blazers big man has scored 16 or more points in four of five games and grabbed 20 or more rebounds in two of those contests. He's had five total assists in his last two games overall, both at home. He's hit the over on 32.5 points, rebounds, and assists in four of his last five home games, and six of his last 10 overall.

The Celtics rank 14th against centers in points allowed per game (21.43), third in rebounds (14.17), and 14th in assists (3.36). numberFire projects Whiteside to record 14.8 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 30:69 minutes. Whiteside has averaged 35.2 minutes over his last five home games, and I think those five extra minutes are enough to push him to the over. Off one day of rest, Whiteside is recording 17.1 points, 15.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assist in 29 games, which is also a positive sign for his over tonight.
