3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Wednesday 3/4/20

Will Donovan Mitchell resume his 30-point scoring streak tonight in Madison Square Garden?

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.

While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money betting everyday player props.

For the purposes of this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Donovan Mitchell, Over 23.5 Points

Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz are in New York for their second meeting with the Knicks. Mitchell only played 25 minutes versus the Knicks because of a 24-point blowout, and as we saw on Monday, the Knicks are playing more competitive basketball now. Mitchell scored 19 versus Cleveland, breaking his 30-point streak at four games. Mitchell has scored 25 or more points in five of his last 10 games versus Eastern Conference opponents.

The Knicks rank 20th versus shooting guards, allowing 23.10 points per game, and they're giving up 116.6 points per game as a team (24th) over their last five. In New York's last three at home, they're allowing 119 points per game (24th), and the Jazz have scored at last 126 in their last two.

Mitchell's scoring streak could pick right back up after having an efficient shooting night in Cleveland despite the modest output. He shot 7 for 15 (46.7%) from the field and was 3 for 7 from deep (42.9%). numberFire's model projects Mitchell to record 24.8 points, hitting the over.

D'Angelo Russell, Under 23.5 Points

D'Angelo Russell and the Minnesota Timberwolves were in action last night, as they took on the New Orleans Pelicans in a shootout. The two teams combined for 253 total points, and Russell scored 23 of that.

Headed into a matchup with the Chicago Bulls, Russell will be facing the NBA's best defense versus guards on a back-to-back. In a meeting earlier in the season as a Golden State Warrior, Russell recorded 7 points in 29 minutes in Chicago.

The Bulls rank first in fantasy points per game allowed to point guards (42.96), first in points (20.16), and second in made three-pointers (2.24). Chicago also ranks third in points per game to shooting guards (20.68). Russell averaged 25 points per game in February (six games) since joining Minnesota. numberFire's model projects Russell to score 23.4 points versus Chicago, hitting the under.

Nikola Vucevic, Over 31.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Nikola Vucevic received a boost in touches last game with Aaron Gordon missing time, and he could be in line for the same increase tonight. Gordon is a game-time decision, and Vucevic recorded 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 assists versus Portland without him.

The Orlando Magic make the short trip to their division foe the Miami Heat. This will be the final meeting between the teams, and the Heat rank 16th versus opposing centers with 21.72 points per game and 11th with 14.93 rebounds per game. In three games versus Miami this season, Vucevic averaged 18.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.

Off one day of rest, Vuc is averaging 19.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 29 games. In February, he averaged 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 12 games, recording 34 or more in eight of those 12. Finally, in his last five games overall, he's posted 21.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists for Orlando, and in his last five on the road, he's averaged 17.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

numberFire's model predicts Vucevic to record 20.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists tonight cutting it close to the his over/under.
