3 NBA FanDuel Studs to Target on 3/11/20

John Collins is in a good spot against the New York Knicks tonight. What other studs should you target on FanDuel?

Basketball is the most consistent sport for daily fantasy purposes.

A top slugger in baseball will have his fair share of 0-for-4 days, and an elite fantasy football player is at risk of having games where his team's offense as a whole is shut down. A high-priced NBA stud is generally going to get his, though. With so many possessions in a game providing opportunities to produce, top fantasy basketball options will be posting high scores just about every night.

While this consistency puts us in a good position to identify top plays, it also means you can't afford to miss when you're paying up for someone. Even with strong value plays in your lineup, paying up and getting a dud is likely going to leave your lineup drawing pretty close to dead.

Let's get right into it and look at which top players should be the focal points of your lineups tonight.

Luka Doncic, PG, Dallas Mavericks ($11,200)

Luka Doncic has been playing through a sprained shooting wrist, but it doesn't seem to be hindering his fantasy production much. He's played four games in March so far, dropping at least 63.0 FanDuel points in two of the four.

Doncic checks in at third in the NBA with an average of 52.4 FanDuel points per game, and he's also third in the NBA in games with at least 60 fantasy points, showing the kind of hard-to-come-by upside you want in someone price north of $11,000.

Tonight's matchup with the Denver Nuggets isn't an ideal one, and Luka has struggled in his two meetings with the Nuggets this year. But on a slate that doesn't offer any other true top-end studs, you can afford to look past that in order to lock in Doncic's elite ceiling.

John Collins, PF, Atlanta Hawks ($8,900)

It took double-overtime to do it on Monday, but John Collins has now eclipsed 44.5 FanDuel points (5.0 per $1,000 of salary tonight) in seven of his last nine games, averaging 45.5 per game in that stretch. That should already have your attention, and tonight's matchup with the New York Knicks just makes him that much more valuable.

The Knicks sit in the bottom-10 in defensive rating on the season, and Collins erupted for 58.7 FanDuel points in their first meeting this year — his third-highest single-game total of the season. It's no coincidence that Collins feasted against New York, either, as they've allowed top-10 fantasy production to opposing power forwards on the season.

Bam Adebayo, PF, Miami Heat ($8,500)

Following a similar trend to Collins', Bam Adebayo has eclipsed five-times value on tonight's salary in 10 of his last 15 games, averaging 45.3 per game over those 15. He's also shown some massive upside, eclipsing 66.0 twice in his last 10.

His salary tonight doesn't make a ton of sense given the way he's been producing. Yes, it's jumped $400 from where it was in his last outing, but it's still down from the $9,100 peak it hit at the end of February, leaving him well underpriced.

He, too, draws a great matchup to sweeten the deal. The Charlotte Hornets have rank 26th in both defensive rating and total rebound rate, and even with their slow pace, they're allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to power forwards and the third-most to centers.
