DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Wednesday 3/11/20

With six games to choose from on tonight's NBA slate, let's take a look at how to utilize the DFS possibilities.

Point Guard

Lonzo Ball ($7,900) -- Ball has been playing well as he's surpassed his fantasy season average (34.8) in six straight games now. Versus Sacramento, he posted 55 fantasy points on 24 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds in the only meeting between the New Orleans Pelicans and Kings. Sacramento ranks 18th versus point guards allowing 24.13 points, 9th in rebounds (5.85), and tied-20th in assists (8.25). Overall the Kings rank 17th in fantasy points per game with 47.91 allowed to point guards, and with the way Ball has been pushing this offense, he's worth a grab. numberFire's model projects Ball to record 34.5 fantasy points.

Elfrid Payton ($6,500) -- Payton cracked 30 fantasy points and recorded five or more rebounds and assists in three of his last four games for the New York Knicks as he posted his worst performance of the bunch last night. Payton finished with 13 fantasy points versus the Washington Wizards. In two games versus the Atlanta Hawks this season, he's posted 27.5 fantasy points per game on 8.5 points, 9 assists, and 2 rebounds per game. The Hawks allow 24.05 points to point guards (16th), 6.40 rebounds (20th), and 7.82 assists (9th) per game. The Hawks are playing their fourth game in six days, so Payton is in a good spot for a quality all-around performance.

Shooting Guard

Duncan Robinson ($6,000) -- Robinson has hit seven or more three-pointers in three consecutive games and recorded 34 or more fantasy points in all three. He's been one of the hottest three-point shooters in the league, and he's nailed 24 of 37 (64.8%) his three-pointers in his past three performances. He's shot over 50% in six of his last 10 games overall, and he's hit 51.4% of his three-pointers at home on the season. The Charlotte Hornets rank 21st on the season in three-pointers allowed to shooting guards (3.29) and Robinson can double that number at home in Miami. He's averaging 23.85 fantasy points in his last five home games and hitting 23 of 40 (57.5%) of his three-pointers in that stretch. Keep riding his hot shooting in fantasy.

Cam Reddish ($4,900) -- Reddish has had three games of 35 fantasy points or more in his last three games. He's scored 20 or more points in three of five and increased his minutes to 25.6 minutes in that stretch. At home, he's averaging 21.1 fantasy points, and he's played 30 or more minutes at home in seven of his last 10 in Atlanta. He scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds in the only meeting between Reddish and the Knicks this season. This matchup is a good one for him keeping it Eastern Conference and versus a team on a back-to-back. Back Reddish as he's averaged 1.01 fantasy points per minute in his last five games.

Small Forward

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($6,300) -- There isn't much value for small forwards tonight in fantasy, but Gilgeous-Alexander coming off injury versus a team he's found success versus sounds intriguing to me. The Oklahoma City Thunder are at home facing a tough Utah Jazz team that's allowed Gilgeous-Alexander to average 34.8 fantasy points on 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Outside of scoring, he's found success rebounding (7.2) and getting assists (4) in his last five games in Oklahoma. The Jazz rank 16th in scoring (22.59), 16th in rebounding (6.31), and first in assists (3.68) versus opposing shooting guards. numberFire's model projects him to record 34.2 fantasy points.

Buddy Hield ($5,400) -- Hield met the New Orleans Pelicans once this season and had one of his better fantasy nights of the season. Hield recorded 47.5 fantasy points on 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists playing 39.1 minutes. Hield has played 25 minutes or more off the bench in six of his last 10 games overall and averaging 1.18 fantasy points per minute in that stretch. His usage rate has increased to 29.32% over his last five games as he's averaged 30.1 fantasy points per game during that stretch despite his low minutes. The Pelicans rank 24th versus shooting guards in fantasy points per game (43.2) and 27th in points per game (24.18).

Power Forward

Al Horford ($7,400) -- Without Joel Embiid, Horford has been asked to do more for the Philadelphia 76ers, and he's done just that. In his last five games, he's averaging 38.46 fantasy points on 15 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. Horford is averaging 1.16 fantasy points per minute in his last five games and his usage rating has increased by 7.62% to 18.80% in that stretch. He's now averaging 30.4 fantasy points on the season, and versus the Detroit Pistons, he averages 35.9 per game in two meetings. With Embiid questionable, Horford is worth the play if they're 2020 All-Star is unable to suit up tonight.

Harrison Barnes ($5,000) -- Barnes is averaging 26.62 fantasy points per game in his last five contests for the Sacramento Kings up 6.37% in during that stretch. In his only meeting with the Pelicans this season, he scored 30 points and totaled 40 fantasy points on 9 for 12 shooting (75%) from the field. He's shot 50% or better in three of his last four games overall, and he's surpassed his 25.9 fantasy average in three of his last five home games. The Pelicans struggle versus power forwards allowing 23.71 points per game (26th) and 23rd in fantasy points per game (49.63).

Center

Richaun Holmes ($5,000) -- Holmes recorded 35 fantasy points in the first meeting with New Orleans and has surpassed 30 in two of his last five games, and six of his last 10 overall. He double-doubled with 13 points and 12 rebounds versus the Pelicans something he's done in four of his last 10 games. The Pelicans rank 25th in blocks (2.76) and 27th in steals (1.48) per game allowed to centers. He's averaging 1.02 fantasy points per minute in his last 10 games and recorded two or more blocks in five of his last six games and one steal in two of his last four games. Expect Holmes to have a solid all-around performance even if he doesn't double-double versus New Orleans again.

Nikola Jokic ($9,700) -- Jokic is averaging 1.41 fantasy points per minute in his last five games and posted his fifth straight game with at least seven points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. He's played the Dallas Mavericks twice and recorded 50.8 fantasy points per game averaging a near triple-double. He's totaled 21.5 points, 8.5 assists, and 8 rebounds in 32.1 minutes per game. He's the second-highest projected fantasy point scorer tonight (46.4) outside of Luka Doncic, according to numberFire's model. He's predicted to total 20.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 7 assists on the road in Dallas.
