DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Monday 8/24/20

With four games to choose from on today's NBA slate, let's look at how to utilize the DFS possibilities.

Here are some of the top plays on DraftKings. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

Malcolm Brogdon ($7,500) -- In five games versus the Heat this season, Brogdon is averaging 42.1 fantasy points per game compared to his 35.3 season average. He's averaging 20.2 points, 9.0 assists, and 5.4 rebounds on the season versus Miami and is fresh off a 34-point and 14-assist double-double. He's double-doubled in two of three games this series and was one assist short in Game 2 of making it three-straight. Brogdon's played at least 38 minutes in each game this series and recorded at least 37.75 fantasy points in each game, including 68.75 in Game 3. He's been the best player on the Pacers in this series -- hands down.

LeBron James ($10,800) -- King James took over in Game 3, recording 68.5 fantasy points on 38 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists in 34 minutes. James has now filed a double-double and triple-double (Game 1) versus Portland and with a chance to go up 3-1 in the series, expect the Kings' reign to continue. Minus the Lakers' Game 2 blowout win when he played only 24 minutes, James has averaged 30.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 12.0 assists, and 70.8 fantasy points in two games. He's one of the must-play talents in DFS tonight, and numberFire projects him to total 27.2 points, 10.4 assists, and 8.1 rebounds in Game 4.

Shooting Guard

Tyler Herro ($5,500) -- Herro has scored at least 15 points in his last eight games, giving the Heat crucial minutes and production off the bench. He's recorded four-straight games of 21 or more fantasy points, and he's totaled three rebounds or assists in three of four games each. Herro has shot 50% or better from the field in two of four games in this series and was perfect from the free-throw line in three of four. At his price, he's worth another grab as the Heat attempt to close the series out versus the Pacers. Fresh off a 20-point game, Herro could see extended minutes off the bench because of this consistent scoring streak.

Dennis Schroder ($6,200) -- Schroder shrugged off the rust in the last two games, especially in a much-needed Game 3 win for the Thunder. He posted 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in 39 minutes for 46.25 fantasy points. In Game 2, he also recorded 5 rebounds and assists apiece with 13 points. Schroder has struggled from deep, going 4-for-14 and 2-for-10 in the previous game. He's going to figure his stroke out, especially versus the Rockets' defense that allowed 36.0 three-point attempts per game in this series. numberFire's model predicts Schroder's stat line to read 20.5 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in a pivotal Game 4.

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler ($8,100) -- Twice in this series Butler has recorded 48.5 fantasy points or more, and in both those games, he's scored 27 and 28 real points. Butler's done more than scoring versus the Pacers, he's averaged 6.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.0 steals per game in 37 minutes over three games. The Heat could clinch this series up 3-0, expect Butler to see heavy usage as they could get additional rest with Milwaukee up 2-1. He hasn't been strong from the field over the last two games, shooting less than 39% in both, but he's attempted 12, 8, and 20 free-throws over the series in that order. Jimmy Buckets has been just that and more in this series, and with a chance to be one of three teams to sweep, another 48 point fantasy point night is likely.

Kyle Kuzma ($5,600) -- Kuzma's posted two poor performances versus the Blazers in Games 2 and 3, as James and Anthony Davis ($10,500) went off. In Game 4, there will have to be more of a group effort, and in the playoffs, the Lakers bench ranks 10th in points per game (30.0) and second in rebounds (20.0). Kuzma needs to step up, and he likely exceeds 30 minutes for the first time since Game 1 with a chance to go 3-1 in the series. Kuzma's series-high was 26.5 fantasy points on 14 points and 8 rebounds in Game 1; we haven't seen the best of Kuz yet. numberFire's model projects Kuzma to record 12.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 27 minutes, but I think he will exceed those totals versus Portland.

Power Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,100) -- The Greek Freak has double-doubled in three-straight games with 59 fantasy points or more in each one. He's likely to be named MVP, and he's shown in the Bucks' past two wins. In their two victories, he's averaged 31.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 62.8 fantasy points compared to 37 points, 17 rebounds, and 7 assists in the only loss. Giannis is averaging 62.4 fantasy points versus Orlando on the season and is a no-brainer in this series. Surprisingly, he's played at least 30 minutes in all three games so far.

Danilo Gallinari ($6,400) -- Gallinari has now scored 20 or more points in two of his last three games, and he's grabbed 12 total boards over his last two. He's a perfect 23-for-23 in this series from the free-throw line and recorded 17 or more points in all three games. Gallinari has attempted 12 shot attempts in the past two games with Schroder getting considerable time on the floor. Of his 12 field-goal attempts in his previous game, he shot 11 three-pointers, making four (36.3%). Offensively, he's been on fire in a crowded rotation of scorers, and playing at least 33 minutes per game signifies his importance on the floor.

Center

Steven Adams ($5,700) -- Adams has owned the boards versus Houston, grabbing at least 11 in all three games. He's only scored double-figures in Game 1 (17), but he's totaled at least 25 fantasy points in three-straight games. Adams has a high-ceiling for this series is a mismatch for the Rockets defensively, and he's even dished out at least two assists every game in the series. Houston's allowed the third-most rebounds per game in the postseason (49.3). The model has Adams projected at 10.3 points and 9.8 rebounds in 29.5 minutes in Game 4.

Hassan Whiteside ($4,800) -- Whiteside has received at least 22 minutes of action in all three games this series, and without Zach Collins, he should continue to play more. He's averaged 7.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks in the series with 20 or more fantasy points in all three contests. Whiteside is a very cheap DFS option with a double-double ceiling through 30 minutes or fewer. On the season, Whiteside averaged 39.9 fantasy points as the starter with 15.0 points and 13.2 rebounds. It's only a matter of time before he gets more minutes.
