DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Monday 8/31/20

With two games to choose from on today's NBA slate, let's look at how to utilize the DFS possibilities.

Here are some of the top plays on DraftKings. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

Dennis Schroder ($6,400) -- Schroder has kept the Thunder in this series, and in his last three games, he's led OKC in scoring each game. In eight total meetings with the Rockets, Schroder averages 19.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 31.1 minutes over the regular-season and postseason. He's a contender for Sixth Man of the Year, and he's proving it in this series he's deserving of the award. The Rockets allow the 11th-most fantasy points per game to point guards (48.58) and seventh-most to shooting guards (43.37).

James Harden ($11,300) -- Harden's averaged 53.3 fantasy points per game in his eight games versus OKC, and he's scored 31 real-life points or more in four-of-five games this series. The Beard is on a tear, and his running-mate Russell Westbrook ($9,700) returned and brought the defensive energy for Harden to focus on his offense. The Rockets are a totally different team with Westbrook on the floor, and while Harden may not post 60-70 fantasy points nightly as he did without him, Harden's my second-highest ranked player for tonight. numberFire''s model predicts Harden to record 34.8 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.7 rebounds in 37 minutes.

Shooting Guard

Duncan Robinson ($4,900) -- The Miami Heat has some sharpshooters beyond the arc, and there's not a better team to play right now in the East when it comes to three-point shooting. The Bucks have allowed 39.8 triples per game in the postseason and 15.0 makes; both numbers are bottom-six in the 16-team field. Robinson attempted 27 triples in four games, making 12 (44.4%), and he's shot 46.9% from the field. While he doesn't offer much outside of scoring, he is likely to heat up and catch a stride at some point in this series. He's one of my DFS sleepers, and the Bucks are allowing the sixth-most threes made to shooting guards (3.47) and small forwards (2.7).

Tyler Herro ($5,500) -- Herro, similar to Robinson, faces a favorable matchup to continue his impressive scoring stretch for Miami. He's scored 15 or more points in nine-straight games and versus the Pacers in round one; he averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists off the bench. Herro recorded 26 or more fantasy points in all four games versus the Pacers, improving on his 24.0 season average. Herro has shot double-digit field-goal attempts in his last three games and added at least five combined rebounds and assists as well.

Small Forward

Eric Gordon ($6,100) -- Gordon has recorded 30 or more fantasy points in all five meetings of the series, and he's scored 20 or more real-life points in his last two. Gordon has attempted at least 15 shots in five games, and in two of the five, he's put up 20 or more. He's one of the Rockets' three-point specialists, but in this series, he's attempted 37 three-pointers (7.4 per game), making only seven (18.9%). He's hit 40.8% of his field-goal attempts and 87.5% of free-throws in the series. If Gordon can get the trey-ball to fall, he's liable to have a significant game.

Danilo Gallinari ($6,000) -- With Schroder returning to the Thunder, Gallinari has taken a bit of a step back, especially the past two games. He's combined for 22.75 fantasy points and 10 real-life points in those two games. In his eight total games versus Houston, he's averaged 30.8 fantasy points per game on 17.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in eight total games. Gallinari was outstanding in Games 3-5, and the Thunder are going to need to tap into Gallinari's offense if they want to force a Game 7. numberFire's model pegs Gallinari to have 22.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in 34 minutes.

Power Forward

Robert Covington ($5,800) -- Covington exploded the past two games in DFS and should be a good look for Game 6. He recorded 43.75 fantasy points on 22 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 31 minutes of his previous performance. That's the most fantasy points he's scored since entering the bubble, and he's Covington is coming off his best overall performance in the postseason. He's averaged 28.9 fantasy points per game versus OKC on the season, and in the last two, he's scored 28.0 and 43.75, so he's on my radar as a fairly mid-priced player.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,400) -- Giannis is the must-play of the night, and versus the Heat, he's averaged 55.3 fantasy points in three meetings this season. He's averaging 25.0 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 32.3 minutes against them, and he didn't play more than 34 minutes in the first-round versus Orlando. He's been an animal on the board, grabbing 15 or more rebounds in four of his last five games, something the Heat are great at limiting their opponents too. Miami ranks first in allowed rebounds to opponents with 36.5 per game during the postseason, which will be the key to the series and Giannis' success.

Center

Steven Adams ($5,800) -- Adams has been hit or miss in the postseason versus Houston thus far, but in Game 5, he double-doubled with 12 points and 14 rebounds. He's double-doubled in two-of-five games during this series. With Westbrook back for the Rockets, Adams saw extended time in the first-half before the third-quarter blowout took Adams out of the rotation. He's hit 50% or more of his shots in four-of-five games, and Houston allows the sixth-most fantasy points per game to centers (55.52). With only two games on the slate, there's not much to choose from, and Adams is a solid stream for the day.

P.J. Tucker ($4,300) -- Tucker has gotten into a bit of foul trouble with his aggressive play in this series, but overall, he's played well in his extended playing time as the center. He played 21 minutes in Game 5, far less than his 36.5 minutes per game in the first four postseason meetings. Tucker has recorded 23 fantasy points or more in three-of-five games in this series, and despite Adams being a glass-cleaner for OKC, he's averaged 6.8 rebounds along with 9.2 points and 22.5 fantasy points per game. He should be well-rested for a series-clinching Game 6, and like Adams, Tucker is a decent stream for today only.
