3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 1/12/21

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash) to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball. Here we'll focus on utilizing our projections and a slew of other tools to help make money betting player props.

For this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint spots where value can be had tonight.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Jarrett Allen Over 12.5 Points (-106)

Jarrett Allen has scored 12 or more points in five straight games, as he's been active on the boards for the Brooklyn Nets. As the starting center of late, Allen has seen his production boosted from his new role. He has averaged 15.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in four contests -- compared to 9.6 points and 10.7 rebounds in seven games as a backup. Allen's minutes have increased from 22.9 as a reserve to 30.9 per game as a starter.

Allen is averaging 15.0 points per game over the last five and played four of those games at home, which is where he'll be tonight as the Nets host the Denver Nuggets. You can expect the big nights to continue for Allen, especially with Kyrie Irving expected to be out again.

Steph Curry Over 35.5 Points + Assists (-111)

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are on a hot streak, and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. With Draymond Green back in the lineup, the Warriors are 4-2 over their last six, including two wins in a row.

Curry had a disappointing 11 points versus the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, making just two field-goal attempts on 16 tries, including 1-of-10 from three. Curry did tie for the team lead in rebounds with Green (9) and was second behind Green in assists (6).

Curry has had two games with fewer than 20 points this season, and in the very next game, he's scored 36 and 38 points with six and 11 assists. Dating back to 2018-19, Curry has a knack for posting big numbers following a terrible shooting performances. After his last five regular-season games with fewer than 20 points, Curry has averaged 28.8 points and 7.6 assists per game -- 36.4 combined points and assists.

While our model has him narrowly going under (34.8 combined dimes and points), I think Steph has a big night versus the Indiana Pacers and gets to the over.

Lonnie Walker Over 13.5 Points (+100)

Lonnie Walker should see his usage increase with DeMar DeRozan sidelined versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sans DeRozan last game, Walker erupted for a season-high 25 points -- three shy of his career-high from a season ago. His 19 field-goal attempts in the outburst were a career-high mark.

For the season, Walker is second on the team with 1.8 three-pointers made per game, and he nailed three of seven attempts in his 25-point game last time out. Walker has attempted at least four three-pointers in seven of 10 games this season and has scored 14 or more points in five of 10 games, including two of the last three.

The Thunder are currently allowing the fourth-most shot attempts per game (91.7) and rank 23rd with 42.2 opponent field goals made per game. We could see a high-scoring affair, and the total up at 218.5 tonight's matchup. I like Walker to get to the over here in another game in which he should be saddled with more of the offensive load.
