3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/24/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Maxi Kleber, PF, Dallas Mavericks ($3,800)

Maxi Kleber comes in as the second-best projected value play among power forwards tonight. Let's talk about why.

The Dallas Mavericks are on the road to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, which sets up to be a very solid fantasy environment for a few reasons. This game features a 231-point over/under, which is the second-highest on the slate, and the Mavericks boast a 119.5-point team total, which is the highest on the slate. We also see the Mavericks playing up in pace by a significant margin, as they are 28th in the league in offensive pace, while the Timberwolves are the third-fastest team in the league.

Those extra possessions should be beneficial for Kleber since the Timberwolves are allowing 43.80 FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, which is 14th in the league. This gives Kleber a projection of 29.59 minutes and 22.2 FanDuel points, exceeding 5x salary-based value. With so many stars on tonight's slate, finding value that will exceed value is a path to the top of the leaderboards.

Bismack Biyombo, C, Charlotte Hornets ($3,800)

With Cody Zeller listed as questionable again, Bismack Biyombo could be in the starting lineup again.

Biyombo got the start the other night and posted 22.7 FanDuel points in 23 minutes. While that is under 1.00 FanDuel points per minute, Biyombo was only $3,500 the other night and was able to exceed his salary-based value. That is what is on tap again tonight if Zeller remains out. It helps that he is facing off against the Houston Rockets tonight, who come in allowing the ninth-most (54.85) FanDuel points per game to opposing centers. Houston finally picked up a win after a 20-game losing streak, showing they've been a team worth attacking for some time now.

With a solid 223-point over/under, Biyombo should be in a spot to rack up plenty of fantasy points against a weak defense, but this is only if Zeller is ruled out for a second straight game.

JaVale McGee, PF, Cleveland Cavaliers ($3,800)

Even though JaVale McGee comes off the bench for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he is a great value play tonight.

The Cavaliers are committed to not playing Andre Drummond before the trade deadline and are still without Kevin Love. This means we see McGee as the main big man off the bench when starting center Jarrett Allen comes off the court. When we account for all of this, we see McGee posting 1.28 FanDuel points per minute from a 24.2% usage rate.

Considering he is under $4,000, you might be looking at one of the best point-per-dollar options on the entire slate. He also has a super-soft matchup versus the Chicago Bulls, who are allowing the third-most (57.24) FanDuel points per game to centers. This is why McGee comes in with a projection of 22.6 FanDuel points in only 19.12 minutes.

If you are looking to go for a stars-and-scrubs build, these three value options could be a key part in that.
