5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Monday 11/21/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Jordan Clarkson, PG/SG, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Salary: $6,000

One of the bigger injury notes for value purposes tonight is the status of Mike Conley, who is out. That'll lead to a direct boost for Jordan Clarkson.

With Conley off the floor this season, Clarkson has a 28.3% usage rate and averages a stellar 1.16 FanDuel points per minute. (Stellar, at least, for a $6,000 salary.) Those represent bumps of 1.8 and 0.19, respectively, versus his rates while sharing the floor with Conley.

Clarkson becomes a much more active ball-handler without Conley (6.9 assists per 36 minutes versus 5.4), and he's projected for 31.7 minutes tonight.

Talen Horton-Tucker, SG/SF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Salary: $4,200

Talen Horton-Tucker's minutes spiked to 31.5 on Saturday when Conley exited nine minutes into his usual rotation. Horton-Tucker took 11 shots in that extended role last game and tallied 23.0 FanDuel points.

numberFire's model projects Horton-Tucker for 28.9 minutes tonight, making him an elite minute-per-dollar value.

The production should be there, as well: 25.5 is his FanDuel projection. That works out to 6.08 FanDuel points per $1,000 in salary, the second-best value rating of anyone on the slate.

Kevon Looney, C/PF, Golden State Warriors

FanDuel Salary: $4,500

The Golden State Warriors should need Kevon Looney tonight against a New Orleans Pelicans team that can rebound well (they're fifth in rebounding rate).

Looney has had rebound totals of 13, 9, 10, 4, 8, 8, and 7 in his past seven games. In that span, he has averaged 8.4 rebounds overall but also 23.9 FanDuel points in 24.4 minutes.

He's getting projected to play 27.8 minutes in tonight's matchup while accruing 26.1 FanDuel points.

Justise Winslow, SF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Salary: $4,400

numberFire's model loves Justise Winslow tonight and rates him as the top projected value play of anyone on the board. He's expected to score 6.70 FanDuel points per $1,000 in salary on the back of 10.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.2 combined steals and blocks over 31.8 minutes.

With no Damian Lillard, someone has to log minutes and shots.

Winslow, in 226.9 minutes without Lillard on the floor, has a 16.8% usage rate and a per-minute average of 0.93 FanDuel points. Those are bumps of 1.7 and 0.11, respectively, than when sharing the floor with Dame.

Nikola Jovic, PF, Miami Heat

FanDuel Salary: $4,500

The viability of Nikola Jovic depends on the status of Tyler Herro, but it seems like Herro will not play tonight. That would leave the Miami Heat without both Jimmy Butler and Herro.

Jovic, without Butler and Herro over the past two games, has played 30.2 and 32.2 minutes. In that extended role, he has returned 25.2 and 21.3 FanDuel points.

Overall this season, Jovic has put up 0.75 FanDuel points per minute, but the rookie is still only 19 years old and has plenty of room to grow both in opportunity and efficiency.
