New Orleans wins draft lottery, will pick first in 2019 NBA Draft
The New Orleans Pelicans have won the 2019 NBA Draft lottery and will pick first in the NBA Draft for the second time in franchise history.
The Pelicans entered the night with the seventh-best odds to land the first pick and their 6.0% odds paid off. Their rise wrapped up a shocking lottery which also saw the Memphis Grizzlies snagging the second pick. The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Cleveland Cavaliers round out the top-five picks.
The Pelicans finished the 2018-19 season with a 33-49 record.
