Grizzlies reportedly grab Gorgui Dieng at deadline from Timberwolves

The Memphis Grizzlies acquired forward/center Gorgui Dieng from the Minnesota Timberwolves, reports Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

What It Means:

The Grizzlies acquired Dieng from the Timberwolves for James Johnson. They also added Jordan Bell at the deadline to help provide some frontcourt depth. Dieng beat out Bell in Minnesota and he figures to do the same in Memphis, but he's unlikely to see consistent minutes behind Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Brandon Clarke.

Dieng averaged 20.2 FanDuel points in 46 games for the Timberwolves this season.
