Gordon Hayward (knee) officially sidelined for Celtics on Wednesday
Boston Celtics guard/forward Gordon Hayward (right knee contusion) is out for Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hayward got his knee rolled up just before halftime of Tuesday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets. It appears to be a day-to-day issue, but Hayward is still going to be held out of the second leg of the back-to-back. He will be joined by Kemba Walker (knee, rest) and Jaylen Brown (hamstring) on the sidelines. Marcus Smart may be facing a suspension, so Jayson Tatum (illness, probable) will likely do the heavy-lifting on offense for Boston after sitting out Tuesday. Javonte Green (ankle, probable) and Grant Williams are candidates to start.
Per numberFire's NBA Heat Map, the Celtics-Cavaliers game has the second-lowest over/under (216.5 points) on Wednesday's nine-game slate.
