Shams: Dion Waiters, Lakers agree to deal Thursday
Former Miami Heat guard/forward Dion Waiters has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
Waiters has had a tumultuous season - he was suspended multiple times by the Miami Heat before being unloaded to the Memphis Grizzlies, who quickly waived him. After a few weeks as a free agent, Waiters has chosen Los Angeles as his next destination, picking LeBron James and Co. over the rest of the field. His addition could end up cutting into Avery Bradley and the rest of the backcourt's minutes, though that would likely be further down the line.
In three games this season, Waiters has averaged 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 16.2 FanDuel points.
