DeAndre Jordan tests positive, not joining Nets

Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan announced that he's tested positive for COVID-19 and that he will not play in Orlando.

What It Means:

Jordan's teammate Spencer Dinwiddie also tested positive, but he hasn't made a decision on his availability for the NBA's restart. Kyrie Irving (shoulder, social justice) and Kevin Durant (Achilles) will not be playing. Jarrett Allen should benefit the most from Jordan sitting out. Assuming Dinwiddie is also inactive, the Nets are likely going to lean heavily on Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince, Joe Harris, and Garrett Temple to create offensively. Tyler Johnson, who was signed last week, also figures to see enough opportunity to warrant DFS consideration. Jordan turned 31 this month.

Jordan's 14.1 percent usage rate is lowest among Nets players with at least 1,000 minutes played this season. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Nets are tied for the seventh-worst odds (+16000) to win the NBA Championship.
