Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr. expected to be ready for NBA restart

Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to be ready to play when the NBA season resumes in Orlando later this month.

What It Means:

Jackson was close to a return before the shutdown, so his availability is reassuring. Coach Taylor Jenkins said that both Jackson and Brandon Clarke, who is also expected to be ready to play, are "looking good, feeling good". Jenkins also mentioned that Grayson Allen (hip) is progressing in his rehab, but still needs to take part in 5-on-5 drills to have his availability assessed. The fourth overall pick in the 2018 draft, Jackson started 54 games for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 16.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 29.8 FanDuel points per game. His first game back will come against the Portland Trail Blazers on July 31st.

Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Memphis Grizzlies (+21000) are tied with the 18th worst odds to win the NBA Championship.
