Giants' Evan Longoria (plantar fasciitis) makes spring debut Saturday
San Francisco Giants infielder Evan Longoria made his Spring Training debut Saturday in the team's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Longoria has been dealing with plantar fasciitis, which is why he hasn't appeared in an exhibition game until now. His return wasn't a full one, as he only served as the designated hitter, but the veteran had a bases-clearing double in his first action.
Our models project Longoria for a .248 batting average with a .720 OPS, 16 home runs, 57 RBI and 52 runs across 450 plate appearances.
