Michael Carter-Williams ruled out for Magic due to illness Thursday
Orlando Magic point guard Michael Carter-Williams will not play Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a non-COVID-19 illness.
Carter-Williams is a late addition to the injury report and his absence will likely lead to a start for Chasson Randle. The Magic should lean more on Terrence Ross to create on offense and R.J. Hampton could also see a larger role off the bench.
Randle is averaging 16.1 FanDuel points per game as a starter this season and he has a salary of $4,000 on Thursday's seven-game slate. The Pelicans are allowing the second-most points to the point guard position over their last 15 games. Hampton is registering a team-high plus-2.5 percent usage differential when MCW is off the court.
