Celtics' Marcus Smart suspended for Wednesday's game against Hornets
Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart has been suspended for Wednesday's game versus the Charlotte Hornets without pay for directing threatening language toward a game official.
The Celtics will now be without both Smart and Kemba Walker (oblique) on Wednesday night. Payton Pritchard will likely enter the starting lineup and he should see plenty of minutes. Evan Fournier will also be able to draw another start.
Jayson Tatum is leading the Celtics with a 33.9 usage percentage when Smart and Kemba aren't on the court this season, an increase of 3.1 percent. Fournier is registering a 3.0-percent increase in those situations. Tatum has a $9,200 salary and Fournier has a $4,900 salary on Wednesday's 10-game slate.
