Sacramento shipping Tristan Thompson to Indiana
The Indiana Pacers are acquiring forward/center Tristan Thompson, shooting guard Buddy Hield, and guard Tyrese Haliburton from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for power forward Domantas Sabonis, guard/forward Justin Holiday, guard/forward Jeremy Lamb, and a 2027 second-round pick.
Thompson cleared COVID protocols on January 18, but he hasn't played in a game since January 9. The Pacers may find more use for the big man, but he will be competing for minutes down low with youngsters Isaiah Jackson (ankle, questionable) and Goga Bitadze. Thompson is unlikely to be available for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, so look for him to make his Pacers debut on Friday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.
numberFire's models expect Thompson to average 20.0 minutes, 7.8 points, and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Pacers over the rest of the season.
