Hornets acquiring Montrezl Harrell from Wizards
The Charlotte Hornets are acquiring power forward Montrezl Harrell from the Washington Wizards in exchange for center Vernon Carey and point guard Ish Smith.
What It Means:
Harrell averaged 24.3 minutes with the second unit in his first season with the Wizards, but he might be able to beat out Mason Plumlee for the starting center job in Charlotte. P.J. Washington and Plumlee both take a hit upon Harrell's arrival. On the flip side, Daniel Gafford and Thomas Bryant should benefit from the deal.
numberFire's models expect Harrell to play 27.7 minutes and average 16.0 points with 8.2 rebounds per game for the Hornets. He averaged 1.13 FanDuel points per minute for the Wizards this season.
