Quentin Grimes (foot) misses Knicks practice Wednesday
New York Knicks shooting guard Quentin Grimes didn't practice on Tuesday due to a sore left foot.
Grimes practiced on Monday, but Tuesday's absence suggests that he's trending toward sitting out Wednesday's season-opener against the Memphis Grizzlies. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau said Grimes will meet with the training staff to be re-evaluated before Wednesday's matchup. The second-year player is expected to be one of the Knicks' first guards off the bench this season. His absence could free up additional minutes for Cam Reddish, Derrick Rose, and Immanuel Quickley in the second unit.
numberFire's models project Grimes to play 26.8 minutes per game and average 9.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.1 3-pointers per contest. He connected on 38.1% of 4.2 attempts from beyond the arc as a rookie.
