Gary Trent Jr. (hip) ruled out Monday for Raptors

Toronto Raptors shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. (right hip soreness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Detroit Pistons.

What It Means:

Trent is on the injury report for the first time this season after starting the Raptors' first 14 games. The hip soreness might have contributed to Trent's poor performance on Saturday when he played a season-low 20 minutes and had his worst scoring (6 points) and shooting night of the year (1-13 field goals). Fred VanVleet (illness) has also been ruled out again for Monday, so there will be more backcourt minutes available for Otto Porter Jr. and Dalano Banton. The Raptors will also need to lean more on guys like Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Chris Boucher.

Trent is averaging 32.0 minutes and 24.7 FanDuel points per game while registering a 21.7% usage rate (third-highest on the Raptors). Per FantasyPros, the Pistons are allowing the fourth-most FanDuel points to shooting guards and second-most FanDuel points to points guards this season.
